Hello friends! Here we are just 5 weeks away from my due date and finally starting to feel a bit at ease about labor and delivery. A friend of mine sent me some affirmations that i’ve been listening to each night and i’ve just started compiling a calming music playlist to bring to the hospital while I labor. My hospital bag is mostly packed, the baby’s room is mostly finished and our childbirth workshop / class is scheduled for next weekend. I’ve had a lot of help from friends and family about putting my mind at ease for labor and delivery. Being a first time mother is scary for many, many reasons and for me the first challenge of parenthood is simply bringing this baby into the world. I worry about the pain, of course but I also worry something could go wrong with our daughter during delivery. I will be surrounded by an amazing team of nurses and doctors but that motherly fear of not being able to protect your child still exists. What were some things you did to help ease your delivery worries?
Being a newly pregnant woman myself, I know the value of accurate information and when it comes to the health of you and your baby there’s nothing more valuable. Before becoming pregnant I was a HUGE coffee drinker. Since finding out I have not had a sip- I’ve heard that up to 200 milligrams of caffeine a day is okay but for me personally, I figured the sacrifice was simple enough. Every now and again I crave that warm mug in my hands so I started researching herbal teas. I found the organic pregnancy tea from Traditional Medicinals and have been really enjoying it with a touch of milk. This particular tea supports healthy pregnancy by combining herbs aimed to tone uterine muscles, provide nourishment and prepare the womb for childbirth. It doesn’t hurt that it’s super yummy too! There are many herbal tea’s that are healthy and beneficial to drink during pregnancy, just be careful of black, green and oolong tea’s which contain caffeine. Happy sippin’!

The 9 month skin care line has gone green! Yes, it’s true. Here’s the story: The ever so popular Mustela brand promises to lessen the appearance of stretch marks, provide leg pain relief, help ease pain of nursing with a nursing balm, and provide an overall moisturizer for your skin. Once known to contain such chemicals as parabens and phtalates now the products are changing their appeal. Amongst other ingredients, avocado peptides and arabinogalactane, derived from the larch tree can be found in the products. I’d say that’s a step in the right direction! Give it a try!
